A chat app, and a corner of the internet about talking to people.
What this site is
HEYID.me is the companion site to the HEYID chat app. The app matches you with people from around the world and translates your messages as you talk. This site is where we collect the things that are useful before, during and after those conversations: questions to start with, greetings in other languages, notes on how different cultures talk, and some plain advice on staying safe.
Who is behind it
I'm Paweł, the developer of HEYID. I build the app, and I write and edit what you read here.
How we write
Articles here are written to be useful to a person, not to a search engine. We try to be specific, to say when something depends on the situation, and to correct mistakes when we find them. If you spot one, write to us.
